Fashion’s Night Out is tomorrow night — Thursday, September 8 — and we’ve got all the details here at GOTG so you won’t be left out of the fun!
What is Fashion’s Night Out you ask? Basically the queen of all things fashion, Vogue’s Anna Wintour, created this nationwide event in 2009 to help promote the industry through a difficult economic time. In just two years, this event has gone national with 250 cities participating this year. The Bee has more details for inquiring minds here.
Right here in Cow Town, we have not one, but TWO, opportunities to do the right thing for the economy (that’s what I tell my husband) and for local charities, by celebrating at either Pavilions or Arden Fair tomorrow night! And, as an added bonus (or, depending on how things go, detraction), the ladies of GOTG will be on-site at both events doing our best to not trip on the runway.
GOTG friend and local stylist Mary Kinney of Sister | Brother Style is producing an amazing event to benefit the UC Davis Children’s Miracle Network from 6-11pm at Pavilions. Stop by before the free 8pm local-celeb filled runway show (including GOTG’s own Jamie Romas) for a free-flowing evening. You can check out the latest fashions and the shops at Pavilions while sipping and tasting offerings from local chefs and getting in on styling consultations by Brenda Cooper of E!’s Fashion Emergency and Cisco Manter eyebrow designer.
And our favorite part (besides Jamie on the runway, of course) is the Runway After Party! Can anyone say carbs?! Between the cocktail and wine bar to gourmet mobile food trucks from Mini Burger, Drewski’s, Mama Kim and Wicked Wich, a dessert bar by Bella Bru and appetizers by Piatti and Ruth’s Chris, you may need a few more minutes at the gym on Friday – or maybe you can get a work out in at the After Party while you bust a move as Celebrity DJ Joel Madden spins the hottest hits. More info on this entire extravaganza is available on Sister | Brother’s site here.
Love Fashion, Give Back, from 6pm to 10pm at Arden Fair Mall, is the other not-to-be-missed event happening tomorrow night. A full 100 percent of the proceeds from this event go to benefit the Hope Productions Foundation. Arden Fair is going all out for this event! Tons of stores including White House|Black Market, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor and Bebe are offering discounts while others, like Michael Kors, are doing it up right with free wine and personal shoppers.
For just $25 you can also get in on an exclusive soiree and runway show previewing fall’s essential fashions, accessories and cosmetics (and also check out GOTG runway novices Ashley Robinson and yours truly as we strut our stuff). We’re told that the swag bag alone will be the envy of all, not to mention the opportunity to win some incredible prizes and of course food and wine. Check out all the details here.
So what are you waiting for – grab your handbag, credit card and friends and in the name of patriotism and philanthropy celebrate Fashion’s Night Out tomorrow!!
