Ten22 is turning 4 next week and would like to gift you some culinary karma. California Food Literacy Center is closing down Ten22 for their own birthday party, on you guessed it Tuesday, October 22nd!From 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. the award-winning restaurant, located at 1022 2nd St. will be serving libations and seasonally inspired dishes to birthday guests. Tickets are just $40, and all the proceeds go towards California Food Literacy Center’s programs like edible nutrition classes and interactive cooking lessons.
Some of the winning recipes from the Kid’s Recipe Contest will be serving during the birthday bash including: Roasted Fall Squash Bruschetta; Cured Salmon Lox with Crème Fraiche; Fall Beet Tapenade and Local Goat Cheese; Wild Mushroom Pot Pies. Speaking of mushrooms, I just cooked mushrooms for the first time and I think they turned out well. The green bean, feta, mushroom, salmon quiche was one of my best so far.
During September, Ten22 participated in California Food Literacy Center’s Eat SMART restaurant campaign for California Food Literacy Month. Ten22′s foundation donated $1 for every check during the month. The winner of California Food Literacy Center’s Kid Recipe Contest will be announced at the party and Chef Jay Veregge will cook the winning dish alongside the winner. The restaurant’s kids menu will even feature the winning recipe!
When I ate at Ten22 before going wine tasting on the Delta King, I got a delicious salmon and seasonal veggie plate, plus the service was great. I hope to see you at this celebration of creative cuisine in Old Sacramento. On that note, valet and validated parking will be available.
