Launched in November 2009, Girls on the Grid (GOTG) is a lifestyle blog focused on the daily lives of professional women in Sacramento. Whether you work in state government, for a PR firm or local non-profit, one thing is clear – we all share the daily struggle to balance work with our own personal lives.
GOTG will serve as a creative space where we can learn from one another and share experiences and advice, as well as discuss everything from careers to motherhood to life in Sacramento.
And we love to publish articles/commentary from our readers! To learn more, visit our JOIN US page.

WEAVE, Inc. is the primary provider of crisis intervention services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sacramento County. Through its involvement in the Rescue & Restore Coalition, WEAVE also provides outreach and services for international and domestic victims of human trafficking. All proceeds from GOTG’s annual #SMEBB contest benefit WEAVE.
The Sacramento Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of all animals in the Sacramento area. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for unwanted, abandoned and mistreated pets until they can be placed into loving homes. Through proactive intervention, public education and community outreach, the Sacramento SPCA seeks to promote respect for all life by breaking the cycle of abuse, neglect and pet overpopulation in our communities. GOTG hosts an annual “yappy hour” to help raise funds/food donations.
