Babs Sandeen, Executive Director of the Yolo Community Foundation and West Sacramento Councilmember

Prior to joining the West Sacramento City Council in 2016, Councilmember Sandeen served on the Planning Commission since 2005. She also serves as Executive Director of the Yolo Community Foundation and provides strategic leadership to support the mission of the foundation, which is to inspire and support giving and to provide philanthropic leadership in Yolo County. Councilmember Sandeen currently represents the City of West Sacramento on the Port District Commission, the West Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency JPA, the City/County 2×2, the Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District Public Financing Authority, and the Water Resources Association, which she chairs. She co-chairs the City’s Age-Friendly Task Force, and she also serves as an alternate member on the Sacramento County Regional Sanitation District and the Yolo County Transportation District.

Sacramento Woman You Most Admire? Susan Savage – she really cares about our community and is a great businesswoman and role model. She makes the River Cats experience exceptional.

Fave Local Cause? Yolo County Children’s Alliance. The alliance supports families to protect and empower children. They provide parent education and help with access to services. They make the community stronger and help kids have a healthy environment. I’m inspired by the mission and grateful for the work the alliance does in our community.

What Do You Want to See in Sacramento in 5 Years? I’d like to see the Streetcar completed!
