Angie Franklin is a yoga instructor dedicated to creating opportunities for People of Color to prioritize their wellness while building community. She is the founder of Afro Yoga in Sacramento, a class that stems from her passion to teach yoga and meditation in spaces that offer representation and connection. Angie teaches Afro Yoga at Huglife Wellness Studio, The Good Saint and RAW Yoga Center and partners with local businesses and organizations to expand the work of racial equity in the wellness community. Fave Local Cause? The Yoga Seed because they do amazing social justice work within the yoga community and are always hosting events and participating in the community in uplifting and positive ways.
What Do You Want to See in Sacramento in 5 Years? I’d definitely love to see rooftop bars, but I’d love to see more diversity in all facets of our community. Specifically I’d love to see a plethora of thriving businesses owned by black and brown folks!
