Art of Beer Combines Craft Beer and Creativity
By Maria Hill
Foodies and beer nerds rejoice! The 6th Annual Art of Beer Invitational is back on January 27th at the McClellan Conference Center featuring unlimited pours from 35 breweries and the opportunity to get up close and personal with the brewers. While Sacramento seems to have no shortage of great breweries or beer events; Art of Beer has some unique elements that make it a cant-miss event.
In addition to pouring beers from top local and national breweries, Art of Beer showcases expertly paired small bites that are so much more satisfying than that pretzel necklace you see at other beer fests. This year’s offerings will highlight local favorites like Low Brau and Oak Park Brewing Co. while highlighting farm-to-fork ingredients.
Art of Beer Marketing Director, Lindsey Nelson, says “This event is a great platform to showcase all our region has to offer, not only in terms of its great craft beer scene but also its food. We’ve taken a strong Farm-To-Fork focus this year, in partnership with our presenting partner, Eat Farm To Fork, and will be featuring restaurants–ranging from food trucks to fine dining restaurants–that embody the movement.”
Elevated Tasting Experience
Art of Beer has reimagined the beer tasting experience by creating a space that features beer lounges, pop-up bars and live art demonstrations. So instead of cruising around looking for the shortest lines you can sit, sip, and enjoy the full experience. For craft beer fans who are on the search for special pours consider springing for the VIP experience that gets you in the door 90 minutes early and includes specialty pours you won’t find on the floor of the main event.
Art Auction For Charity
It isn’t called Art of Beer for no reason! This event features artwork created or commissioned by participating breweries that the public can bid on in the silent auction. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Sacramento non-profit Sol Collective, a community-based partnership whose mission is to provide artistic, cultural, and educational programming, promote social justice, and empower youth through art, activism, music, and media experience.
This is the part where we remind you to also be a responsible craft beer drinker and arrange for transportation from Art of Beer or bring a designated driver (they get unlimited food samples, so it is basically like buying them dinner for the favor). If you want to make a night of it the Lions Gate Hotel is located across the street from the McClellan Conference Center.
