PET CRUSH OF THE WEEK

This lil rascal is Petey. He’s a two month old boxer mix searching for just the right home. Petey has a condition that causes him to wobble and be slightly off balance. He’ll need someone that can supervise him and keep him safe. Find out more about Petey at the Sacramento SPCA

  • This week the city of Stockton held a swearing in for their first African American mayor. Michael Tubbs is also the youngest ever mayor of a city with more than 100 thousand people.  
  • Sacramento is featured on the Bon Appetit website. They mention a lot of my favs and some places that I can’t wait to try.
  • The Kings hosted their fourth annual (and first at Golden 1 Center) Equality Night  to celebrate Sacramento’s LGBTQ community.

  • Did you know that a woman was first to break the news of the beginning of World War II? Clare Hollingworth passed this week at the age of 105. Not only did she report on a pending attack from Germany before anyone else, she was also one of the first to report on the peace talks between the U.S. and Vietnam.   • Registration for Xbox’s 17th Annual Women in Gaming Luncheon opens next week on January 20. The yearly event seeks to create mentorship and networking opportunities for a traditionally underrepresented demographic in technology.
  • Planned Parenthood and the University of Utah have teamed up to provide free birth control to thousands of women in Utah.
