Paper Heart Patisserie – Naked Cake Workshop

If you haven’t already noticed, wedding season is upon us and one of the hottest trends right now are naked cakes.  I will admit, several of my secret wedding Pinterest boards are sprinkled with images of these rustic-looking edible towers.  However, these cakes aren’t just for celebrating nuptials and can be for the any special event (or even just a Tuesday).  If you want to learn how to make gorgeous layered cakes, join me this Thursday June 25 at the Spring Naked Cake Workshop at Goodwork HQ, hosted by Amanda Ngo of Paper Heart Patisserie.

Amanda, a French macaron and cake connoisseur, discovered her passion for baking while studying to be a teacher.  Spending all of her free time baking, she was asked to cater a colleague’s wedding and found her new calling and enrolled in pastry school.   In January of 2013, Amanda founded Paper Heart Patisserie, aiming to help make the memories of celebrated occasions a little sweeter.  She currently caters a large spectrum of events from birthdays to showers to weddings.

Amanda will be blending her teaching skills and baking passion together for this first time this month as she hosts a hands-on workshop interactive cake party.  The event will be filled with raffles and prizes, and obviously lots of cake eating.  By the end of the evening, guests will leave feeling confident about being able to create their own cakes, and possibly in a sugar coma.

Paper Heart Patisserie will be hosting additional workshops throughout the summer and early fall, including classes on cookie decorating and baking with sugar flowers!
