Ladies of Sac, LET’S BUILD!

This May, our local Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s will once again be taking part in an exciting nationwide event called “Women Build”.

Women Build is an annual event which takes place the week before Mother’s Day where women all over the country are invited to learn construction skills and put them to use building homes for families in need with their local Habitat for Humanity.

We’ll be hosting our Women Build here in Sacramento from May 6th-9th.  This year’s Women Build will focus on painting 4 homes which are part of our Neighborhood Revitalization project in Del Paso Heights.  The build days will be from 7:30am-3:30pm.

You don’t need any prior experience to participate.  Habitat will provide all the tools and training that you need so you can come out and learn a new skill or put your current skills to use to make a great impact in the community!

Additionally, Lowes in West Sacramento will be hosting a free training clinic prior to Women Build Week from 2-3:30pm on Friday, May 1st for any women who are interested in learning the proper technique for how to paint a house.  (The clinic is not mandatory for participation in the Women Build, but is a great way to pick up some DIY skills!).
