Passion and Purpose with David Garibaldi

higherBy Aimee Darville

I saw David Garibaldi perform at a bank party 2 years ago and it blew mind. He dance splatter painted big screen-sized portraits of John Lennon and Che in a matter of minutes which lead up to the highlight of the evening, his big reveal. To the delight and gasp of the crowd he flipped the last painting over to reveal Einstein’s wise face hidden within the seemingly random splatter. I’m not the most artistically inclined but his talent literally boggles my mind.

On top of his ridiculously emotive paintings, his moves put him in a hybrid class of performance/fine artist. Or as I fondly think of it dance portraiture. I hope he doesn’t mind be labeling his talents, I know how much artists love to be pigeonholed!

If you haven’t seen David perform yet, you are in luck: next Tuesday, April 9th, this Sacramento native is doing a hometown show at Harlow’s! And to make this event even sweeter all proceeds from will benefit foster kids!

Mike Robinson of Rock N F8th will be playing an acoustic set during dinner at 7 before David takes the stage at 9. Tickets are still available, but they are going fast. Tickets for the dinner & show are $65 and you can see David Garibaldi perform fro 9 pm – midnight for only $25!
