Contest: Sacramento Opera's The Barber of Seville
Have you ever thought it would be fun to check out an opera but thought it wasn’t exactly your speed? If so, we understand – but we’re about to change your mind!
GOTG has partnered with the Sacramento Opera to launch a contest to win two free tickets to an upcoming performance of The Barber of Seville – a romantic comedy – on Friday, November 16 at 8:00 p.m. at the Sacramento Community Center Theatre (1301 L Street).
The nearly 200 year-old opera, The Barber of Seville, is arguably the funniest of all comic operas. Written by Gioachino Rossini in 1815, it is full of non-stop laughs, captivating characters and parade of familiar tunes and arias that continue to make it incredibly popular on the modern stage – even for non-opera fans.
Winning the tickets couldn’t be easier. Because it’s Movember and the show’s main character is a barber, follow Sacramento Opera on Twitter (@sacopera) and tweet a photo of an awesome mustache including the #OperaBarber hashtag. Contest runs between Tuesday, November 13 and Thursday, November 15 (4pm deadline).
But our friends at the Sacramento Opera aren’t stopping there. Beginning today and through tomorrow, you can secure tickets (in select sections) to either the November 16 or 18 performance of The Barber of Seville for 50% off (regularly $49, $26 with discount)! Discounted tickets may ONLY be purchased by calling (916) 737-1000 – be sure to mention the discount code ROSINA.
