11th Annual Celebration of Independence Gala 

  • Date/Time: Thursday, October 4 at 5:30pm
  • Location: Grand Hotel, 1215 J Street
  • Benefits Women’s Empowerment
  • Evening features an inspiring program, silent auction, raffle, live auction and a seated dinner. Come prepared to be inspired by the journey our graduates have traveled as a result of your support. Together we are ending homelessness one woman – one family – at a time. 

33rd Annual Women Take Back the Night Rally and March 

  • Date/Time: Saturday, October 13 (resource fair at 5:30pm, rally at 6pm and march at 8pm)
  • Location: 2020 J Street
  • Participants include the Sacramento Native American Health Center My Sister’s House, WEAVE, Victims of Crime Resource Center, the League of Women Voters of Sacramento County, and V-Day Sacramento.
  • The 2012 rally (Sacramento tradition since 1979) will be an evening of remembrance, celebration, and action to stand against all forms of violence against women and children. The rally will include a survivor speak-out, dynamic speakers on the topic of violence against women, dance, spoken word, music, and culminating with Sacramento Taiko Dan. 

The Great Gatsby Golf Tournament & Lawn Party 

11th Annual Women in Philanthropy Luncheon 

  • Date/Time: Monday, October 15 at 11:30am
  • Location: Crocker Art Museum
  • Benefits United Way
  • Event commemorates past accomplishments, future goals. a fashion show featuring local foster youth! This event has and always will be, one the most unique opportunities in our region, offering the chance to network with other caring philanthropists and explore the benefits of becoming involved. Most importantly, this event thrives on creating lasting change in our region. Proceeds from the event will benefit United Way’s $en$e-Ability project that support local foster youth.


  • Date/Time: Thursday, October 18 at 5:30pm
  • Location: 1801 L Street, Suite 50 (formerly L Wine Lounge Bar)
  • Benefits WEAVE
  • Neil Forester, Head of the Family Law Division at Goyette & Associates and WEAVE Board Member, will craft his secret Jambalaya recipes perfected through years of trial (and error) in such Cajun cooking hotbeds as Wyoming, Santa Barbara, and Placerville. Neil promises a version suitable to the refined tastes and untarnished palates of Sacramento, as well as the famed “nuclear” option for those who wish to achieve total clarity through spice. The cuisine will be complimented by libations influenced by the Southern origins of the signature dish.
