Get Your Local Wine and Dine On

By the Editors

Back by popular demand is the 9th Annual Raley’s Grape Escape!

In case you’re new to Sacramento, the Grape Escape is a wonderful opportunity to discover the region’s best boutique wineries from the Sierra Foothills to the Central Valley to Napa/Sonoma.

  • Saturday, June 4 from 4pm-7pm
  • Cesar Chavez Park, 10th and J Street
  • Participating regional wineries and local restaurants.
  • Tickets can be purchased here.

We can attest to the importance of wearing comfortable shoes and stretching prior to the event. 🙂

If you’re a big foodie, be sure to check out the Chef’s Challenge where last year’s champ Adam Pechel of Tuli Bistro is going up against the Press Bistro (David English) and Fat’s (Russell Okubo), and Thai Basil (Suleka Sun-Lindley).

And if that weren’t enough fun, Sacramento Restaurant Week officially started yesterday!

This year, the gorging is going to last for two weeks (May 23-June 5) as a way to lead up to/promote the Grape Escape.

Each restaurant has their own special, but in general, they offer three to four course meals (with wine pairings starting) at $30/person. Click here for all the participating restaurants (dozens of choices).

And be sure to friend the organizers on Facebook and Twitter!
