NEW DATE: Dirty Dogs? Wash Your BFF at a Charitable Dog Wash Next Week

By Laura Braden

EDITOR’S NOTE: Thanks again to all of our readers – Grateful Dog reported that over 80 dogs participated, and they raised $3200 (more than a whopping $2000 from 2010)!

Warm(er) nights and longer days means more time to spend at your favorite, local dog park. It also means…well…stinkier furkids.

Luckily, one of our favorite doggie daycares has the solution: the 2nd annual Charity Dog Wash.

Grateful Dog (430 17th Street) will host the event next Sunday, May 22nd from 10am to 2pm. All you have to do is swing by; let their sweet staff spit and polish your pooch; and drop a few dollars or pet food into the donation bucket.

Last year they raised over $1,200 for the SPCA. This year, the donations will benefit Titanic’s Pantry (aka the Sacramento Pet Food Bank), which helps people during difficult times by providing food for their pets… which hopefully cuts down on the number of people who have to abandon or surrender their pets to cash-strapped shelters.

Grateful Dog will also raffle off some prizes and close off part of the street for vendors and informational tables (if you’re an interested organization or business, contact Robert at 916-446-2501).

Look forward to seeing you there!
