Looking for a fun way to spend next Thursday (11/11) night? Join the fun at the 2nd annual “Foul Mouth Dinner” (duck cook-off) at the Grange Restaurant in the fabulous Citizen Hotel at 926 J Street.

Here’s the scoop: Executive Chef Michael Tuohy and local foodie blogger Hank Shaw will create their own version of the same four courses, each served side by side on one plate. There’s two awards up for grabs – one  Critic’s Choice award by the Sacramento Bee’s Rick Kushman, and one Diners’ Choice award, voted by patrons.

Reserve your seat by calling 916-492-4450 – the fun starts at 5:30pm. It’s $55/per person, which may seem a bit steep, but remember that you’re getting four courses (of what’s sure to be AMAZING food) and a portion of the proceeds go to the California Waterfowl Association to buy, restore and maintain wetlands all over California.

Now we LOVE the Grange (and just about everything that Michael creates – he’s a genius!), but we’ve had a long-term love affair with Mr. Shaw – going back to his days as a political reporter. So while we wish them both luck, GOTG is officially Team Hank!! 🙂 (Plus, Michael won last year, and GOTG loves a good comeback story).

    I ate at this last year. It’s awesome, but be prepared: wear some stretchy pants and a baggy sweatshirt. We waddled (like a duck, get it?!) out of the Grange. Go Hank!!
