Worth It? Living Proof’s Thickening Cream

By the Editors

What it promises:

Living Proof’s “Thickening Cream” promises to leave hair looking feeling noticeably thicker and healthier. This lightweight cream allows fine, thin hair to act like thick hair with naturally soft, touchable body. By depositing thickening points on the hair strands, it creates a thicker surface that enables fine hair to have natural movement and bounce, beautiful shape, and volume throughout the day. While traditional thickening products create a hard, brittle hold that collapses upon touch, Full allows your style to remain flexible, soft, and resilient. Go ahead, run your fingers through your hair, no need to fear a style fall.

GOTG’s verdict?

This stuff is L-E-G-I-T.

If you have baby fine or thin hair, you will see a noticeable change after using just a few times. It feels thicker, it gives you real volume, and it helps hold your style.

You only need a tiny bit, and it seems to work the more you use it.

Unless you have a natural wave or straight hair, you may not want to use this on days where you’re just going to wash, dry and go – the few times we did, it left our hair a bit crunchy. Nothing crazy, but just enough to notice. It seems to work best when you do something to your hair, like putting it in rollers, straightening it or blowing it out.

Where you can find it:

Sephora carries it in two sizes: 3.7 ounces for $24 and 1.8 for $14 (the latter is great for travel, or if you’re not ready to commit). You can also buy it online directly from Living Proof, which gives you free shipping for orders over $48.

BONUS TIP:

The Living Proof website has “how to” videos for short and long hair. Check them out here!

I haven’t tried the thickening cream, but I do use Living Proof straightening cream for course-textured hair, and that stuff is incredible. It only takes a tiny bit, as long as it’s really evenly worked through your hair, so it will last months. I got caught in a downpour on my way to my husband’s company Christmas party (since my job was to be his arm candy, this could have been bad!) and got pretty wet in my mad dash from the car to the door. My naturally very curly/kinky hair stayed smooth and straight for the entire night! Living Proof products are well worth the $24 – they are truly in a league of their own.

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance. I must say you’ve done a amazing job with this. Also, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Chrome. Excellent Blog!
