First off Im surprised to be the first to comment on this!! What a great idea, that “my” girls on the grid have thought of, but have never moved forward on. I hope there is an open invitation and maybe we can bring an eligible bachelor.

Who was that second hottie on Fox 40?
This is sizing up to be a great competition ladies!

I confess to being a little put off by this competition. So far the GOTG blog has been all about promoting our gender’s professionalism, networking, charity, style, and other interests. I don’t know, but a “most eligible bachelor” contest just seems passe and a bit of a throwback. My first instinct was to be very turned off, though I’ve mellowed somewhat on that. In the future, I would love to see the site instead run contests like “Most Dynamic Girl on the Grid” and have cool categories that recognize our respective contributions. Just a thought.

Jennifer, we agree, but let me put this into perspective for you and any other readers who feel the same way… Our readers range from their 20’s-50’s – from interns and students to small business owners and stay-at-home moms. We’ve always intended for this blog to mix the serious with the fun, and that’s all this contest/feature intends to do.

We already have other contests and features in the works that profile women leaders in their field, honor those who are making a substantive difference in our community, and those younger GOTGer’s who are rising stars.

We want this blog to be something for everyone so you’re going to see us release a variety of content. The bigger point is that this blog is also an open forum for all women in Sacramento. If someone doesn’t think we’ve covered a topic enough, we would encourage them to tell us or submit their own article. We’ve already had 1/2 dozen readers submit their own content and we would love to have even more!

We 100% appreciate the feedback and please keep the good ideas (and great articles!!) coming!

I, for one, don’t think there’s anything passe about helping smart, dynamic and professional women (like myself) find an equally smart, dynamic and professional man with whom to have an interesting conversation, a date, or perhaps something more… With my career, I have little time to bar-hop or whatever it takes to meet interesting men (or women) these days, so a “contest” like this seems like a great way to shine the spotlight on some great individuals. Obviously, I enjoy the site’s focus on career, shopping, and other issues, but I have many diverse interests — and dating happens to be one of them!

Stephanie: The 2nd hottie on Fox 40 is Patrick Harbison. He and I have been great friends since high school and I cannot sing his praises loud enough. He is definitely the whole package — funny, charismatic, close to his family, adventurous, and a “hottie”. You can take him anywhere and he will fit right in. Honestly, I can’t believe he hasn’t already been swooped up.
